Red Fox Shirley New York

I don't see many foxes but I have seen them in one particular area. When I saw your fox photo, I recalled that I had seen a red fox several times when I was driving thru Woolwich here in Maine. I found a news story about a 79-year-old man in Woolwich who was attacked by a pair of foxes while he was using a motorized weed trimmer. He fought them off but he was bitten on his arms and legs. He was treated, of course. It happened in August of 2020. At about the same time, there were 18 reports of attacks on residents and pets in Bath. Unfortunately, foxes are one of the animals noted to have rabies. More recently, a cat was found to have rabies which is rare.
